War and Peace



                                                             War and Peace

‘I am for peace…they are for war.’(Psalm 120:7)

I. Preparing for War
A.     ‘Arm yourselves likewise’ (I Peter 4:1) (Offensively)
1.      With Grace unto the Humble-James 4:6ff (War Within)
a.       Submit  yourselves therefore to God
b.      Resist the devil
c.       Draw nigh to God
d.      Cleanse your hands
e.       Purify your hearts
f.       Be afflicted and mourn
g.       Let your laughter be turned to mourning
h.      Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord
i.        Speak not evil one of another
2.      With the Same Mind-I Peter 4:1 (War Within)
a.       Let this mind be in you…teachg and admonishg one another/Spirit’l Songs (Col 3:16)
b.      Be filled with the Spirit…speak’g to yourselves in Psalms and Hymns…(Eph 5:18, 19)
3.      With the Weapons of Our Warfare-II Corinthians 10:4ff (War Within)
a.       Casting down imaginations
b.      Bringing into captivity every thought
c.       Being ready to obey
4.      With the Word of God and Prayer-Ephesians 6:17,18 (War Without)
a.       Practicing Saying/Meditating on the Word
b.      Praying always
c.       Praying all kinds of prayer
d.      Praying with all perseverance and supplication
e.       Praying for all saints
B.     ‘Put on the whole armor of God’ (Defensively-Ephesians 6:14-18) All of the Armor found in Christ
1.      Having your loins girt about with Truth
2.      Having on the breastplate of Righteousness
3.      Having your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace
4.      Above all, taking the shield of Faith
5.      And take the helmet of Salvation
6.      And the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God
7.      Praying always…

 II. Principles of  Powerful End Times Warfare (Revelation 12:11)
A.     ‘They overcame him [devil] by the Blood of the Lamb

B.     ‘And the word of their testimony’

C.     ‘And they loved not their lives unto the death.’

III. Practicing Victorious Warfare
A.     Victory over the world (I John 5:4)

B.     Victory over the flesh (Romans 13:14; Galatians 5:16)

C.     Victory over the devil (Ephesians 6:10-18; Revelation 12:11; I John 2:14)
