“When
The Lion Walks Softly”
Theme:
Warfare Prayer Habits of The Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 4:1-18):
Text: “And in the
[early] morning, rising up a great while before day [darkness], He went out
into a solitary place and there prayed [pouring out His souls desires/communing
with His Father].”
(Mark 1:35)

Day Testing/Environment of the Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 5:8):
“And immediately the Spirit drives Him
into the wilderness. And He was there in the wilderness forty days: tempted of
Satan; and was with the wild beasts;
and the angels ministered unto Him.” (Mark 1:12, 13)
Timing:
Illustration/Introduction: ‘Tiggy’
the small tabby cat in early morning can readily progress into “a roaring lion” (I Peter 5:8) when he is
allowed for the devil’s main objective is to remove the believer’s “peace of God” (Philippians 4:7) so that
he, the devil, might have opportunity through “the flesh” (II Corinthians 10:4,5) to make “war in the believers soul” (I Peter 2:11).
“Be
sober be diligent because your adversary the devil as a roaring lion is walking
about seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist steadfast in the faith [with the
shield of faith Ephesians 6:16], knowing that the same afflictions are
accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” (I Peter 5:8)
This war in the
soul will continue during the night as the believer sleeps unless their mind is
guarded and kept through memory and meditation of Scripture prior to falling
asleep (Proverbs 6:20-23). The Living Word of God (John 6:63) Who is the Lord
Jesus Christ (John 1:1-14) will dwell in you (John 15:7) and He promises: “I will never leave you or forsake you!” (Hebrews
13:5)
But, the
war/conflict will continue throughout the day as the devil attempts to remove
your peace through his various methods of trickery and deceit (Ephesians 6:10).
However, if you are willing to actively/faithfully “put on the whole armor of God” (Ephesians
6:10-18) you will be
enabled to continue standing for the Lord throughout “the evil day”(Ephesians 6:13).
So, if you are
taking a stand against wickedness, witnessing with the Word and your testimony
for Jesus Christ, which includes the willingness to hide the Word of God in
your heart, you will literally place a spiritual target on your back which can
be clearly seen from the heavenlies by the adversary and his wicked spiritual
cohorts.
This spiritual
target will cause you to become one of the prime focal points of the devil’s
ongoing vicious attack upon Christ and His kingdom which is found in His Body
the Church. Each believer is a critical part of the Body of Christ so we must
represent Him upon earth by doing our part in the ongoing heavenly battle
against evil.
However, the
great spiritual war has already been won on the Cross through the precious
Blood of Christ, but the battles which are located within the believer in this
ongoing struggle in the heavenlies must also be won through the power of the
Lord Jesus Christ in order for us to obtain the victory. (I Corinthians 15:57)
Therefore:
“Put
ye on the Lord Jesus Christ [the whole armor of God] and make not provision for
the flesh to fulfill the lusts thereof.” (Romans 13:14)
